The Wasatch Front Wiener Dog Racing Association is Utah’s original and definitive community dedicated to celebrating dachshunds through fun, family-friendly racing events and gatherings. With hundreds of enthusiastic participants and spectators, we bring people together to honor one of the most beloved dog breeds — the wiener dog (aka dachshund, aka doxie) — while fostering community, joy, and shared experiences.
Each spring, we host the Millcreek Doxie Derby at Millcreek Common, a festive dachshund racing event that draws local families, dog lovers, and their furry companions for a day of racing, prizes, costumes, and community spirit. The event showcases dozens of dachshunds racing down a straight track to reach their owners — and usually a favorite treat or toy — all while spectators cheer them on.
Our events are built on the belief that every dachshund — and every wiener dog fan — is a winner. Whether your dog sprints every race or decides to mosey over to make new friends, the experiences we create are about fun, connection, and celebrating the unique personalities of these long-bodied, short-legged companions.
Beyond racing, we’re about building community. Our events bring together local rescue groups, pet businesses, food vendors, and families for an unforgettable day of laughter, tail wags, and shared enthusiasm for dachshunds of all shapes, sizes, and coat types.
At our core, the Wasatch Front Wiener Dog Racing Association believes in spreading joy, strengthening community ties, and honoring our four-legged friends — one race at a time.
